Upgrading Macbook Pro Retina Headphone jack

Getting pretty into it but the 1/8" RCA jack is shit. Seriously doubt it can be upgraded with the limited space. Has anyone looked into it?

I plan to upgrade to a portable USB driven DAC/Amp but I was just wondering.
