People over on CA have been using this cable and "HEARING" positive results.
Ever heard of an audio accessories not having positive results on CA?
I'm most of all wondering how the Corning works.
It requires a self-powered device.
Ok, don't connect the power pins at the receiver side and you have the receiver isolated from the PC as far as the power is concerned.
But how does the PC detect the device?
I understand this is because some current is flowing.
But if one don't connect the power this is not the case.
It is optical (laser)
This laser is powered by the PC over the power lines of the USB.
This I can understand.
However there is a second circuit, the one after the laser, converting optical back to "USB"
How is this circuit powered?
Again by the PC? If so it is not isolated.
Powered by the receiver?
Anyone knows?
