It is a bit unclear to me what the Corning is doing.
At one hand it is for self-powered clients only.
It does have power lines.
These are needed to power the converter from optical to electrical at the end.
Don’t know if it also presents a voltage on the pins of the client.
Might be needed to start the device enumeration.
