The advantage of a single file is that it will play gapless regardless the audio format and the protocol used.
Most media players do support gapless today but in case of DLNA it is still a problem.
The downside is that you have to keep 2 files in sync.
If you rename the audio fie, you have to edit the cue sheet as well
Likewise if you move the audio to another folder, you have to move the cue as well
The tags in case of cue are very limited.
