The Red drives are good drives. They are quiet, cool, have low power consumption, and the MTBF is much better than average. They are also very fast for 5400rpm drives; but the firmware is definitely meant for NAS use.If you get a NAS they are an excellent choice, but for a single drive I'd pick something else.
