Tony, I made noise samples from between tracks using three gain settings.
I'm using a Denon DL 304 (.18 mV), Jolida JD9 and Budgie (Cinemag 3440) SUT.
65 db gain ... -65 db noise sample
50 db gain ... -45 db noise sample
35 db gain ... -50 db noise sample
Gain settings refer to Jolida only. I believe I'm adding 20 db with the SUT. Noise spectrum created in Vinyl Studio.
The Tascam had enough gain to allow the same - 3 db setting for 50 db gain but nearly maxed out. Not so with 35 db. Left it set same as with 50 db gain.
If I did the test and read the results properly, I should use the 65 db setting??? Not the result I expected.
