Tony, does recording at lower levels reduce the dynamic range of the recording?
While I'm not yet confident my gain settings are optimized, my bigger concern is hum, hiss, rumble, pop and click editing...fearing that even if I correctly capture the sound I will compromise it while removing noise.
Would lower gain reduce hum, hiss, etc without reducing dynamic range or content/detail?
I've not tried to record in Goldwave. I did try editing. It's not as intuitive. I think Goldwave allows plug-ins - VST. Is the Izotope noise reduction system clearly superior?
