Agreed, it's not the same process. All of my cds are ripped to wav files.
I've read and heard from others that they found their vinyl rips to be indistinguishable or nearly so from listening to the vinyl. That is not what I'm hearing and I chose my best sounding LPs.
The tt and phono preamp are the unchanged. The new pieces in the chain are the sound card, cable from the phono pre, software and computer.
