I bet it is. There are many applications running in the background besides Pure Music while that file is playing.
That's another one of my questions.
When I look into Activity Monitor, on any screen, I have everything shut down so that Pure Music (Less is More) is drawing the most resources by far, and it's about 3.7% due to upsampling to 176.4 for Redbook, but almost nothing else is going on.
Where should I look to see if other resources are being used in the background?
