"Too detailed" is not "Bright" as one might think...at least in my system.
The lynx is the only digital I have heard the has a bunch of detail but doesn't sound bright. It just lets everything through and it is neutral.
Also, as AJ can attest, i have been thinking that I was missing tubes.
But having had the chance to hear a system recently that had the same amp and speaker family just a step up ( Pass x-250 and Maggie 1.6s vs. what I have, the x-150 and Maggie MMGs) but with tubes in the system, Pre, and a Lector cdp, i found that I really don't miss them at all. Actually, I did miss the detail and didn't find myself enjoying that syrupy sound like I thought I would.
That system just didn't sound as clean i like.
Sure, the room was different, and the components were all different though very similar, but I'll tell you, I wasn't missing anything.
