I just cloned an SSD drive for as a replacement for the old one and it quickly gave me a message that my system changed and my Windows 7 needed to be activated. That one went ok. Next, I opened the old Office 2007 and got another activation message. This time it didn't work and my old Excel speadsheet wouldn't accept any new data.
I gave up and bought a download version of Office 2016 Pro for $40.
Office Libre or Google Docs is an option, but as Abe mentioned, their implementations don't handle Power Point well and Google doesn't work if you don't have an internet connection.
