We computer / digital audiophiles tend to jump on the latest trend or fad then vehemently defend and endorse our new choice as being superior. Others jump on board and soon we have herd mentality pulling everyone along in the same direction..... including totally irrational behavior in some cases.
There are in fact several ways to achieve outstanding performance in digital audio with any differences often being more like splitting hairs vs jaw dropping improvements - assuming that each were setup "with appropriate care and understanding" to begin with.
That's not to say it's not worth trying new things or trying to make incremental improvements along the way. I'm just cautious when I see herd mentality taking over.
