RE: Where are the AoE DAC's?

True enough.

I just wonder if it might appeal to those looking to reduce the general purpose ness of the "computer" doing the conversion to I2S. In theory one could have an embedded one channel converter at it's simplest.

Then there is the whole isolation built into the hardware layer and the working at massive data bandwidths with error correction and low latency over many meters of cabling part of it already handled and out of the way.

Apparently the standard afor multi channel hi def already exists and is in use for pro installs.

Piles of low cost hardware at fred meyer already able to route it all over the home.

I'm just wondering why this hasn't gained more favor.
