Anyway, my guess is that one of the main differences might be the SSD controller as this is a very busy circuit with SSD technology.Per Wikipedia:
Some of the functions performed by the controller include:
Error-correcting code (ECC)
Wear leveling
Bad block mapping
Read scrubbing and read disturb management
Read and write caching
Garbage collection
EncryptionKeeping in mind that all of those functions are likely performed in differing ways with differing circuits/firmware depending on make/model of Thunderbolt SSD Hard Drive?
Could make for sound differences?
