USB is the weakest link...hence all the peripherals to try and make it better.
A whole cottage industry has sprung up as a result of USB audio. Even with all the Asynch, filters, do-dads, Regans, etc people still gravitate to SPDIF and are satisfied.
As it stands, it would be just as easy to make all Dacs and front-ends I2S, is that the answer? Is there something that is clearly and definitively better than SPDIF in all situations?
Or are band-aids here to stay?
