I have no idea what DAC you are using.
If you are having problems with the USB connection with your UltraRendu, which you claim to love, my guess is the first place to look is the USB input to your DAC.
John Swenson has done a pretty good job with the USB output on the various Rendi and while I would prefer a direct I2S output to USB, the lake of standards for I2S and the need for very short signal paths make it impractical.
