My DAC uses a USB > I2S converter sourced from AMANERO. Doesn't look exactly like the one on the AMANERO web site as all of the tiny caps have been replaced with larger ones. It's powered by the DAC and this allows use of the UpTone Audio USPCB A> B Adapter with the 5V from the source switched off.
Not sure it that's a HUGE improvement, but to tell the truth, the uRendu still beats the Pi once all of expensive power supplies, etc. are hooked up.
If I didn't like my USB input on my DAC, I'd get a Singxer SU-1 (latest model) as it has a BNC output and all of the latest XMOS stuff including DSD512 native firmware which they CLAIM supports uRendu.
