Safety is always important and all this is well taken. And...

Not to belabor the point… But...

This is not your typical application for these 3.3 V batteries. Of course high current draw devices, and high current charging has its dangers and must be pointed out rightly so. This is the way these batteries are normally used, and as such there are definitely dangers and we must be careful.

But the application which we must warn everybody not to do, is totally different and does not fall under how these batteries are normally used.

Batteries should not be used by anyone that is not fully aware of the risks involved.

This is why you will not see this discussed anywhere on the forums that you pointed out because this is a different application.

But if you look at the specific way the battery is used to power the chip, of course we must not do this… But if we did, and I am not doing this, and not recommending this to anybody, should be perfectly fine as this battery with extremely low current draw and the subsequent low constant charge should live happily ever after. :)
