The fact that you are using an add-on USB controller card makes a huge improvement in sound quality. You can get this same improvement in sound quality by using a USB 2 add-on card for your Lynx and it is only about $10.
The reason is that add-on cards in the PCIe bus get their own interrupt line to the main processor in the computer and don't have to share the data line with any other USB traffic - mice, keyboards, video cameras, microphones, touchscreens - the list is endless.
You are comparing apples to oranges. The 32-bit aspect is a canard, because as soon as you run that into any Windows program (like Audacity), it is converted to 32-bit floating point, which only has the same resolution as 24-bit fixed point. Please see my other post on fixed versus floating point.
