Thanks. I previously used a Lynx Hilo, recording at 24/192. The RME sounds just a little cleaner/clearer in the upper frequencies than the Lynx at 24 bit. But the RME's sound is clearly superior at 32 bits. The Lynx is now around 4 years old, and the RME is new.
The RME is connected to an add-on PCI-e USB 3 controller card, using Lavricables "dual head" cable. The sound with the add-on card is noticeably better than the motherboard-mounted USB jacks, and only cost around $25.
