32-bit Audio in Windows 7

The specs for Windows 7 shows it will handle 32-bit audio. (This is not the same as Windows 32-bit or 64-bit.) I use an RME ADI-2 Pro AD converter set for 32-bit 192 kHz, and Audacity (or Reaper) is set for 32-bit float. The resulting WAV files are 32-bit, with a data rate of 12288 kBPS. This results in LP albums needing about 1.8-2 GB of storage space per side.

So I know that the RME can SEND 32-bit data, and Audacity can SAVE 32-bit files. But my question is how do I know that Audacity is actually, really and truly RECEIVING 32-bit data from Windows?

Thanks for any insight you can offer.

Happy listening.

Kind Regards,
JerryS
