Considering Squeezebox -- Please help

I'm about to make the switch from a CD player to computer-based front end. I'm considering either Squeeze box 2 or a dedicated computer to a USB DAC. Here are my questions:

1. I've heard that using the USB port into a DAC is vastly superior to the S/PDIF. I've read the rave reviews of the SB2, but am wondering if I'm compromising sound quality but not going straight from USB to DAC.

2. What are folks using as the interface with the SB2? I need to manage my library, and it seems the screen on the SB2 is to small to see across the room. I don't want to spend a lot of extra money on a remote with a screen. I do have a TV in the room, but it's non HD.

3. If I use NAS for storing my music does my computer also have to on for the SB2 to function (it seems counterintuitive, but I read on one of these threads that the computer could be off)

4. I have Lynksys router wireless router. Can I hook NAS to this?

Thanks very much in advance for any advice you all can give.

Rich
