One of the things I like best about my music server is its ability to manage a large collection. With good tagging, it is pretty easy to find the songs you're looking for and play them easily in whatever order you wish. With well past 20,000 songs in my library, it can get pretty daunting to run things down any other way. Want to find that song by the Waifs that is on a sampler disk, not one of their CDs, but can't remember which of the over 100 samplers that its on? Piece of cake with a music server.
Believe it or not, some of us audio types are actually interested in playing a wide variety of music. ;-)
