You are definitely right about the looming trauma of Peak Oil. In addition, the ecological ruin we have visited on our planet is about to bite us all in the collective arse, with or without anthropogenic climate change. Global per capita food production is falling, and the most vulnerable areas of the planet from an energy and food security perspective are the same ones whose population is going through the roof. And all these chickens are coming home to roost just as we're entering what may turn out to be a global depression.
