The way I see it, and for me this even started with just plain old video tape .On the tape medium be it analog or digital nowhere in
time does the image ever exist. On film there is an actual moment in
time that has been captured . A caveman could pick up a piece of 70mm
film hold it up to the light and see it.
A student came up to me once back around 85 and said " Rich what's
the differance between film and tape " thought for a moment and said
" Bruce , with film you need vision with tape you just need a television "
