If I can clear those pesky cobwebs , I seem to recall that the very
first 63 Corvair's swingaxle would drop to the point where the two
wheels could almost touch when lifted off the ground . So not only
would the ass end come around but if you hit a bump at the same time
the wheel would fold under the car and it would flip . The following
year they limited how far they could drop then in 65 it was an all new
suspension . I may be mistaken but that's how I remember it .
