The article that ties together ecological concepts with the implications of Peak Oil and the effect on population. The article describes how the Earth's human carrying capacity has been drastically inflated over the last hundred years by the use of oil. It goes on to discuss the consequences of an oil decline-induced overshoot. To top it off, I present a simulation of the possible depth and consequences of the overshoot-induced population crash.
Anyone who thinks I hold out any hope for the bulk of humanity will be thoroughly disabused of that notion.
