70% of the world's oil is used for transportation. Half of that goes into passenger cars. So increasing the efficiency of every passenger car in the world by 25% would save 10% of the oil. Cool. What do we do the year after that?Driving a more efficient car is a good idea, but not because it's going to help with the oil depletion or GHG problems. We do it because it saves us money and makes us feel a bit better about ourselves.
I's OK, though. We don't actually need to do anything. I'm sure Mother Nature has already come up with a solution for problems like this.
