the endless war, with no personal skin in the game. Where are the Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield, Wolfowitz, etc kids when this is going down? When they were of age, they found ways to shirk combat duty. They talk tough, but it's easy when it doesn't hit close to home.

To me, the real heros are the ones who demonstrated the right stuff in front of their men, when the pressure was on. Senators McCain, Murtha, even Kerry (although Kerry is a little, a wishy washy). W and company brought disrespect to themselves and the military with their politically motivated attempts to discredit the war time accomplishments of these veterans.

We aren't supposed to think these thoughts when we are in, because completing the mission is imperative. But, we are out now. As citizens we have a duty to monitor government, and make a call when they do the wrong thing.
