The pain is a 24 hour a day experience that started back in early 1996 and hasn't stopped yet and it's 2012.
Sometimes it's so bad it effects my eyesight and wakes me up at night.
All I can do is sit and wait for the pressure to stop squeezing my eye ball so tight that it hurts it.
I take Clonazapam and Topiramate daily and sometimes oxycodone.
I've been taking narcotic drugs for over 16 years and sometimes in super massive doses, most times with vodka & OJ and have never became addicted to any of them. I've been on a dozen other drugs also.
I know what your talking about when you say the pain come in waves.
That's one awful feeling. Very difficult to get people who've never experienced it or doctors dismiss it to understand what your going through.
Drugs are usually worthless for them because they come an go so fast or stick around long enough to drive you to brink of the edge, just before the drugs start to work. I find they take at least 1 hour.
Even if I try to shorten the wait with drinking some vodka straight.
I keep a bottle of Luksusowa potato vodka in the freezer at all times
for that.
