Didn't rent a car, and we were glad not to have it. One of the owners of the B&B we stayed at worked for metro transit, and with their help we were able to get everywhere we needed to by bus and light rail.
Great city, wonderful food (still drooling over the chowder at Pike Place). The EMP museum was a blast-they currently have an icons of science fiction exhibit with some pretty cool stuff, like Darth Vader's light saber, Captain Kirk's chair, the faceclaw thing from Alien, etc. The Boeing museum was excellent, too-one of the best (if not the best) collections of vintage aircraft I've ever seen.
