Painting: "A visiting Bishop"
tinear,
Of course Bacon is one of my heroes and even if it were intended to make a charge of being derivative that you even recognised this is a semi-complement.
I'm not worried by your having a strong negative opinion of a movie- after all, "Avatar" has serious flaws in my view, which I hoped I'd enumerated. My appreciation of it is more a fascination in the way in which it was conceived and realised than a great satisfaction as a total work of art.
However as to the charge of grouchiness, without fuller explanation of your reasons for rendering "Avatar" "eviscerated", this does hint of grumposity. The term "eviscerated means that you consider yourself to have in effect ripped the guts out. -So, why the violent reaction?
Cheers,
Bambi B
P.S.: While I packed away the pints as a lad, thanks to migraines I haven't had more than a few isolated glasses of champagne since 1986.
