I dunno, Dr Bragg's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar did what several wide spectrum antibiotics could not...

My dog had what looked like a pressure blister on her foot for months. It would come and go. It was a reddish bump the size of a large marble cut in half. Sometimes it would open and weep.

Took her to my vet, he prescribed one antibiotic. Two weeks later, no success. Then, two more weeks of Amoxicillin - no luck. I then took her to another vet, took a $400 culture and prescribed Cipro. After 3 weeks of that, no change except she had terrible diarrhea.

I decided to take her off all antibiotics and did a web search for natural cures for bacterial skin infections. Soaking in Organic Apple Cider vinegar was one of the time-tested solutions. So, I mixed two tablespoons of Bragg's in a bowl of warm water and soaked that paw for 6-8 mins twice a day.

The open blister dried up on day two and the whole thing was gone within a week. The area healed over the next few weeks and the hair grew back. It has reappeared one or two times in the past two years, but three or four soaks and it is gone.

So, $800 in doctors visits and prescriptions versus $1 bottle of organic apple cider vinegar? One worked, the others didn't

Apple Cider Vinegar in itself is alkaline because of its "ash" content, which means if the apple cider vinegar was burned, what is left over becomes ash. When you check for the pH of that ash and dissolve it with water, the content is alkaline. Whenever our body digests anything, it undergoes oxidation, which is similar to burning and the end result is that you can determine whether the end product was alkaline or acid. Apple Cider Vinegar has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties, primarily coming from the malic acid and acetic acid portion of the vinegar. Apple cider vinegar acts as a buffer in the body because the acetic acid reacts with base or acid compounds to form an acetate, therefore rendering them chemically bioavailable for the body's utilization. Additionally, Apple Cider Vinegar can reduce the toxicity of certain compounds by converting the toxin into an acetate compound, which is less toxic. This is why they are ideal for insect bites and certain skin allergies. While Apple Cider vinegar in itself is considered alkaline, a chemically pure vinegar (acetic acid) is neither acid nor basic forming as it leaves no ash as the entire portion, when burned evaporates completely.
