A noble performance indeed. Along with Bach unaccompanied violin sonata & partita and Brahms violin concerto, this is Szeryng at his best. I used to own one with Schmidt-Isserstadt which is also excellent.In the same direction, Szygeti/Walter is also recommended - sound is barely tolerable and his technique seems shaky at times but a spiritual performance.
