Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

George Benson playing some jazz sooo smoothly...

...before the disappointing epoch of "Smooth Jazz" really took off in the mid-70's, and before he began to sing, Benson put out a few fine, mellow jazz albums on CTI. This and "White Rabbit" in 1972 are the best IMO. Hard to miss with Ron Carter, Jack DeJohnette, and Rudy vanGelder putting you through the paces...

You gotta forgive Creed Taylor and look for the good. He was once so disparaged that my local EllPeeHut kept CTI LP's in a box under the bins and gave me a handful I'd picked out for free, just to be rid of them. Thanks, snobs!
