It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

The Who "Endless Wire"

"Endless Wire" was the first 'real' album since 1982's "It's Hard" (which was pretty weak IMO). Daltrey and Townshend - 'ere all what's left - made this for folks that regard "Who's Next"and "Tommy" as the soundtracks of their good times. It's a decent album and when their reach (vocally) exceeds their grasp, its forgiven.

The "Endless Wire" package contains a DVD which I actually recommend you throw away as it shows all the weakness of the contemporary band, especially the bassist/drummer- the timekeeping is terrible. The CD however sounds pretty good, the classic Who sound. It got fixed in the mix to achieve a much higher standard than the concert footage.

It somehow says "goodbye" however. Daltry and Townsend still have skills, write beautifully, but have mislaid their voices and their band. They had great momentum in '89 when Simon Philips replaced Moon and they toured "Tommy" and- I have to pinch myself here- that was almost 30 freakin' years ago... Dig Philips in the vid linked below- he is on fire!
