They used little Nipper during the pre-war era when there really wasn't a DGG company in sight. It was on German Polydor. After Germany's defeat, a rather petty provision of the peace agreement was that EMI insisted on taking over the Nipper "Registered Trade Mark" as an exclusive right to b. honored throughout most of the world save North America.
What astounds me is that within 5 years of complete devastation, a group of German die hards estab.ished DGG in 1950 from scratch. They introduced that b.ue Tulip and yellow lab.l that most everyone is familiar with. I have some of their very 1st pressings.....mostly 10" EPs in those "B.ue Tape" covers.
