I don't think this performance is bland and so on. The Beethoven 9 CD for DG was that. Strange impotent with such an orchestra.
I have heard performances of this piece for 50 years and am still learning. Which Brahms 1 do you like?
The current performance is excellent. TK criticized it earlier in the year, but I was surprised how good this Br 1 sounded watching it thru my BluRay.
Thanks for the tips on other performances. Maybe FWM is still growing up.
