as I posted earlier, I heard him conduct the Tchaikovsky 3rd and 4th in Disney Hall...sitting in the section behind the orchestra.
With my bad eyes and pretty experienced ears, I can report that the Simon B orchestra played very well. He had a rapport with his orchestra and there were lotsa babes with black evening attire and some cool looking guys. Young, energetic. Dude's orch often doubled and tripled parts, making the sound bigger and more impressive. Particularly great was the start of the T 4, with the cymbals and huge orchestra. I felt a bit uncomfortable with this technique of putting over 120 musicians on stage (like 8 basses).
