On Saturday, I found myself in a classical record store and impulsively bought a boxed set of Bruckner symphonies by him. Does he excel on any of Bruckner's work, compared to other conductors? I'm not that good at discriminating differences, but most of what I heard lacked the "mystery" my mind wants to associate with Bruckner. Who are some radically different interpreters of Bruckner: I mean over the top, love it or hate it, types.
This really isn't a science with me. I just like romantic composers: Strauss, Sibelius and Bruckner.
