It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

His Top 10 are certainly not mine

The Greatest

NY Times columnist names his Top 10 composers. There's a lot of familiar dudes in pretty much the familiar order, with Bach, Beethoven and Mozart at the top. Yep, there's Brahms and Schubert and Wagner. But then, Bartok in the top 10? Really? And Mahler isn't mentioned. Instead, there's Debussy. Hrmmm.

Frankly, I don't like his list.

Who is in your top 10 -- not based on some abstract notion of "greatest" because it's impossible to establish and apply real criteria for objectively deciding on greatest.

Instead, who are YOUR Top 10 composers based on you personal LISTENING choices? Who do you actually listen to?

You can put them in rank order or alphabetic order or no order. 10 names, the composers you enjoy listening to the most.

My list:

1. Rachmaninoff
2. Rimsky-Korsakov
3. Brahms
4. Dvorak
5. Bruckner
6. Beethoven
7. Myaskovsky
8. Glazunov
9. Mahler
10. Atterburg
