PAINTING: Design for a Satie Museum
jimbill,
I should have made clear that it's good melancholic music that gets me out of the funks. One only need choose the right kind- at the worst times I like the melancholic music with a sense of humour: Dowland, Froberger, Rameau, and Satie are reliable to break those dark moods even though the music is itself also dark. < Something like black humour- laughing at the theatre of the absurd.
As nasty as depression is- and anxiety worse, I find often do my best work in my worst moods- IF -I convert the depression to melancholy. Music is best for that as it's the most passive and doesn't have a necessary visual distraction either.
-Probably to do with being left-handed, which was considered a form of brain damage until 1966.
Did you ever see the movie, "The Saddest Music in the World"?
Cheers,
Bambi B
