One story I heard (a couple of years ago) was that she was performing a Mozart concerto (I forget where) and, during the long orchestral exposition, she fell asleep on the piano bench - right in front of the audience! The conductor had to wake her up, and repeat the start of the concerto again. This second time through, she played it with her customary excellence.

I saw her a couple of times in the 80's, and I had a high opinion of her playing, both live and recorded. RIP.
