Pitch correction and multi-tracking or 'overdubes' are NOT the same thing at all. The Beatles were no more guilty of over-dubbing than any other pop band of this era. The more complex recordings such as Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road could be performed live but it would have meant additional musicians on stage and then that really would not have been the Beatles now would it.
I believe George Martin did a miraculous job ganging several Studer tape machines together to simulate multi-track machines of the 70's and 80's.
He kept it clean and simple and deserves much of the credit for the Beatles success.
