I have a RBCD of a live Giulini/VPO Bruckner 7th performed near the time when DG made their recording of that work with these forces. It's on the "Memories" label and may still be available at BRO. The timings are as follows:
Memories (concert performance, 1986 06 10):
1. 19:38
2. 22:28
3. 10:26
4. 12:20
DG (June 1986):
1. 20:22
2. 24:08
3. 10:35
4. 12:31
So the "Memories" rendition features slightly faster tempos (heat of the live performance?), but more importantly, the recording (presumably made by the Austrian Radio?) is far more natural (fewer microphones) than DG's effort - although this is far from DG's worst. I highly recommend the "Memories" CD - and I should have included it in my list.
