I like Tintner's recordings of Bruckner. I'm not sure that he lived long enough to finish the entire cycle on Naxos (he included the "0" and "00" symphonies).
All of this Bruckner posting has caused me to reevaluate him and rediscover his music. He is rapidly joining Mahler as one of my favorite composers.
Since he and Mahler were contempories of each other, did they meet or correspond?
