Many of us orchestral musicians consider Giulini the best Brucknerian on recordings. His interpretation of the 7th, with the VPO, is magical, one of my all time favorite performances. I am surprised only one other person so far in this thread has mentioned him. Definitely one of the finest conductors of the second half of the twentieth century. Gunter Wand is also a great suggestion.
