It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Re: Some personal choices for Schubert chamber music recordings

Thanks Clark.

The Cortot, Thibaud, Casals recording of the Piano Trio #1 is available on CD on EMI as part of a three disc set of (mostly) chamber music by the trio. It is a lovely performance although one hopes EMI gives it an "ART" re-mastering in the not too distant future.
Serkin, Busch, Busch is apparently available on Pearl: I'm trying to order it for the second time.
P. Serkin and the Schneider Qt. are on a bargain Vanguard set with the St. Qnt. and St. Qt. #14 (CMSLC).
Several of the others (all those listed in my earlier postings) are also on CD.

Interestingly, in my listening through a half dozen mostly "modern" (i.e., late '50s to the present) versions of the Piano Trio #2 on CD, I have not found any one that really stands out either.

There are several intriguing choices listed above, esp. the Badura-Skodas, the Hungarian and Vegh Qts., that I am going to search for.

Very helpful, Clark. Thank you again.

Rob
