It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Schubert String Quartets and Quintet

Since we're discussing Schubertian chamber music, and since I don't see anything in the archives specifically on the topic of his String Quartets and Quintet, how about sharing lists of favorite recordings?

Here's mine:

St. Qt. 12 - Melos Qt.(Harmonia Mundi); Brandis Qt.(Nimbus)

St. Qt. 13 - Quartteto Italianno(Philips); Kodaly Qt.(Naxos)

St. Qt. 14 - Tokyo Qt.(RCA); Lindsay Qt.(ASV); Quartteto Italianno
(Philips); Vienna Qt.(Decca); Busch Qt.(EMI)

St. Qt. 15 - Julliard Qt.(Sony); Lindsay Qt.(ASV); Alban Berg Qt.
(EMI); Busch Qt.(EMI)

The Busch recording of Nos. 14 & 15 is a sentimental favorite as it is the one that made me fall in love with chamber music.

St. Qnt. - Lindsay Qt.(ASV); Melos Qt.(Harmonia Mundi); Hollywood
Qt.(Testament); Heifitz, Baker, Primrose, Piatigorsky,
Rejto (RCA)

Looking forward to reading of recordings I haven't heard.
Good listening.
