that aside, dont amps and preamps with either even or odd numbers of gain stages cause inverted polarity that should be addressed? i realize that somewhere near half of the recordings differ in absolute polarity which would almost dictate an absolute phase switch on the preamp, and preferably remote. that goes for balance as well which isnt always easy to get right from the spot where you stand at the preamp.
